Mountaineer Anita Kundu meets Hry CM

Chandigarh: Mountaineer Anita Kundu met Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday at his residence and sought blessings for her next goal. The Chief Minister extended greetings to Kundu for a successful journey ahead. Kundu, who hoisted the tricolor three times on the world's highest peak Mount Everest, apprised that now she will climb the 8,481 metres high peak Mount Makalu located in Nepal and will hoist the Indian tricolour. In the year 2020, Kundu was also honoured by the President; with the ‘Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award’, the biggest adventure award.

Hry CS inaugurates blood donation camp

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Wednesday inaugurated a blood donation camp at Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh.  On the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that a blood donation is a noble act and a healthy person should actively participate in charitable work like donating blood. Out of the total 125 employees who donated blood during the camp, 100 donors have donated blood for the second time, 20 donors over 15 times and 5 donors more than 40 times.

Deed writer accepting Rs 60000 bribe on behalf of Naib Tehsildar arrested

Chandigarh: Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday caught a Deed writer accepting a bribe of Rs 60,000 from a person in lieu of registration of the sale deed of plots in Tehsil Sohna. The accused had accepted a bribe on behalf of Naib Tehsildar, Sohna who has also been booked.


Adequate arrangements made to meet growing demand of power: Hry CS
 


Chandigarh:  Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Wednesday said that adequate arrangements have been made to meet the growing demand for power this summer in this state. Kaushal said this after chairing a meeting with the senior officers of the Power, Health, Public Health Engineering, Labour and Revenue Departments for management and mitigation of the adverse effects of extreme weather conditions predicted by Indian Meteorological Department.  In the meeting, it was apprised in the meeting by the officers of Power Utilities that there will be no shortage of power. The Power utilities have already made adequate arrangements to meet the growing demand of power this summer. The officers of the PHED and Irrigation Department divulged the details of adequate availability of water for drinking and irrigation purposes.  Hence, the Chief Secretary decided that there will be no change of rescheduling of working hours for government employees.
