Himachal CM dedicates Trauma Centre in IGMC to the people

Shimla:  Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday dedicated the 'Trauma Centre' in the new multi -storey OPD block of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) completed with an outlay of Rs. 30.90 crore.  With the opening of the new OPD ward, the doctors, the paramedical staff and the patients will have a better environment to work in and will enable best medical care to the patients. This will also reduce congestion due to heavy rush of patients in the OPDs. He said that a sum of Rs. 12 crore was being spent to buy new equipment and machinery for the surgery wing, the orthopedic unit, the radiology and anesthesia section.  The new OPD block will house a Physiotherapy ward, Special wards, Emergency Unit, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Isolation ward, Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan, X-ray, Sample Collection Centre and Pathology lab us patients on priority. The building has spacious waiting longue for the patients anfacilities. The block will have a special provision to treat the seriously injured and other seriod their attendants. Besides,  it will have separate cabins for the CMO and other paramedical staff.

Four-laning of Shimla-Mataur and Mandi-Pathankot road projects approved

Shimla:  Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday took a review meeting with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and said that strengthening road connectivity in the state was a priority and the NHAI should speed up the work on four-lane road projects being executed in the state. He said that the state government would provide full cooperation to NHAI and has simplified various procedures of forest and other clearances and have fixed a timeline for the completion of projects.  Sukhu informed that the NHAI has agreed in principle to four-laning the road project from Shimla to Matour amounting to Rs. 10,000 crore and four-laning from Pathankot to Mandi to cost Rs. 12,000 crore.  Besides, the NHAI will present a concept paper as on how to minimize and prevent the landslides which occur due to the expansion of roads in the state and will spend an amount of Rs 300 crore on the same.  He said that the State Government has decided to develop Kangra as a tourism capital and the Pathankot-Mandi and Shimla-Mataur four-laning will prove beneficial from the point of tourism.

Hry CM to honour 40 women for at Karnal today

Chandigarh: A state-level ‘Samman Samaroh’ will be organised on the occasion of International Women's Day in Karnal on Friday. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be the chief guest on this occasion. Minister of State for Women and Child Development Kamlesh Dhanda said that 40 women will be honored for performing commendable work in various fields, while 62 awards will be given for uplifting the girl child in the state.  The first Sushma Swaraj Award carrying award money of Rs 5 lakh will also be given. Besides this, an award money of Rs 1.50 lakh will be given under the Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award.
