In a major political development, former state president of Bahujan Samaj Party, Dr KK Sachan, and former minister in BSP government and seven-time MLA Narendra Singh Yadav joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Monday.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak welcomed them in the party along with their supporters, including Farrukhabad district panchayat chairperson Monika Yadav, former Lok Sabha candidate of Samajwadi Party, Sachin Singh Yadav, and state president of Uttar Pradesh Timber Association and state secretary of SP Vyapar Sabha, Mohnish Trivedi.
Pathak said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the BJP governments were working to make India self-reliant. He also highlighted the Antyodaya ideology of the BJP and how people from various political parties, social organisations and business organisations were joining the BJP family in large numbers.
Pathak also talked about the development in Uttar Pradesh under the BJP government and how the state was moving forward on the path of development with the commitment of education for all, security for all, and medical treatment for all.
He contrasted this with the previous SP-BSP governments, which, he said, had imprisoned Uttar Pradesh in the clutches of goons, mafias, mobsters, criminals, and the corrupt.
The joining of Dr Sachan, along with other prominent leaders and their supporters, is likely to strengthen the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. The new members were urged to work hard in their respective areas to support the BJP candidates in the upcoming urban local bodies elections and ensure a big victory for the party.
