Chhattisgarh Police on Wednesday seized 220.5 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 55.12 lakhs and arrested three persons in Mahasamund district who were allegedly transporting it from Odisha to Raipur city and Madhya Pradesh.
Mahasamund Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh told The Pioneer that Rajesh Ratre, Kamlesh Sonwani and Hari Singh Agariya have been taken into custody.
The first two men are from Raipur and the third hails from Madhya Pradesh.
The police intercepted Ratre’s car at the Temri Naka check post, leading to the seizure of 120 kg of cannabis. Ratre and Sonwani were held.
Agariya was apprehended after the police intercepted his car at Paraskol square. Cannabis weighing 100.500 kg was seized from him.
