‘Priority to successfully complete welfare schemes on time’

MGNREGA Commissioner Rajeshwari B, on Thursday, said that it is a priority to successfully implement welfare schemes on the ground and complete the pending projects on time so that the set target can be accomplished as soon as possible. She gave this instruction while reviewing various schemes under MGNREGA through virtual medium.

While reviewing the Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme, the MGNREGA Commissioner took detailed information about the selection and acceptance of beneficiaries under the scheme. In this sequence, information was given through presentation of the works done against the target set under Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme (MGNREGA). All the DDCs present in the meeting were instructed to complete the target set for block-wise and panchayat-wise irrigation wells on time.

Rajeshwari directed the districts making relatively less progress to speed up the work. She said that proper monitoring/supervision of all the work on the ground is necessary. She also instructed the senior officials and BDOs of all the blocks to continuously monitor all the active sites and the works being done under MGNREGA. She said that our main objective is to make these welfare schemes run for the benefit of the common people on the ground. All officers should make active efforts for this.

The MGNREGA Commissioner took information about the irrigation wells provided under Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme MGNREGA. She said that no deserving beneficiary should be deprived of the benefits of the Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme. She directed the Deputy Development Commissioners to prepare a list of beneficiaries who need irrigation wells. She also directed the Deputy Development Commissioners of the district to deposit the royalty on time.

Rajeshwari took updated information about the applications received related to the MGNREGA scheme in the camps organized from November 24 November to December 26 last year under the program 'Aapki Yojana-Aapki Sarkar-Aapke Dwar'. She took information about the executed, rejected and pending applications in this order. She said that it should be ensured at all costs that applications do not remain pending. The reasons for applications which have been rejected should also be stated. DDCs and project officers of all the districts and others were present in the meeting.
