At least eleven places of the State on Thursday witnessed maximum temperatures at 40 degree Celsius or above.
Boudh and Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature at 42.0 degree each. This was followed by Angul and Balangir at 41.7 degree each, Jharsuguda 41.6 degree, Titilagarh and Bhawanipatna 41.0 degree each, Nuapada 40.4 degree, Rourkela 40.2 degree, Sundargarh 40.1 degree and Talcher 40 degree.
Bhubaneswar recoded a temperature of 37.4 degree and Cuttack 38 degree.
