Two poachers were nabbed by some locals on Wednesday and were handed over to Forest Department officials while they were entering into the Similipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district.
According to sources, the two accused were caught along with their country-made guns and several other incriminating articles The duo was forwarded to a court in Baripada later in the day.
PCCF (Wildlife) Susanta Nanda stated in his X handle, “Now, the villagers are up against the criminals trying to dent their pride, the Simlipal Tiger Reserve. Thrilled to share that villagers of Kendua village bordering Similipal have nabbed two accused with two loaded guns last night while entering into Similipal for poaching. Kudos.”
