As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, AIIMS Bhopal organized an insightful awareness program on food hygiene and nutrition at the IPD Hall today, continuing its commitment to fostering a healthier community. Professor (Dr.) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, underscored the significance of a clean diet in fostering a healthy body and lifestyle.

He emphasized, "A healthy body and a healthy life are possible only if the diet is clean. If the diet is not clean, then the human body cannot remain healthy. Hygiene of food may be related to its storage, preparation, or consumption. It is very important to maintain cleanliness of food at every stage. Along with this, proper disposal of leftover food is also very important. We also have to stop wastage of food. Only then can we play an important role in the development of the nation."

Ms. Bhavna Ahirwar, Senior Dietitian of AIIMS Bhopal, further elaborated on the critical link between food and human health. She emphasized the importance of cooking, storing, and maintaining food items properly to ensure their cleanliness and nutritional value, stating, "The body of any person is affected by food and drink, and the cleanliness of food and drink is directly related to human health.

As a practical demonstration of their commitment to promoting nutrition, Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Ajai Singh distributed nutritious food packets to the patients and their relatives visiting the hospital. These packets included food items made from millets, Chaulai laddus, and roasted gram, providing both sustenance and nutritional value.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including faculty members, officers, residents, staff, nursing officers, and a large number of patients and their relatives, underscoring the collective commitment towards fostering a healthier community. The Swachhta Pakhwada concludes on 1April 15, 2024.
