The 6th Annual CME cum Workshop on Practical Dermatopathology took place at AIIMS Bhopal on Sunday. This national-level conference under the mentorship of Executive Director and CEO, Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh & guidance of Dean Academics Prof Rajneesh Joshi, was jointly organized by the Departments of Pathology and Lab Medicine, and Dermatology. More than 110 delegates from within the state of Madhya Pradesh and from states of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Puducherry registered for this CME cum Workshop.
The first day witnessed talks by eminent national faculty including Prof. Uma Nahar (PGI Chandigarh), Prof. Poonam Elhence (AIIMS Jodhpur), Prof. (Dr). Meera Thomas (CMC Vellore), Dr. Chirag Desai (Divya Sparsh Skin & Hair Clinic, Mumbai), Dr Irene Mathews (AIIMS Patna) and Dr. Siddharth Mani (INHS Sanjivani, Kochi) covering a wide range of topics in cutaneous disorders like vasculitis, panniculitis, granulomatous disorders, immune-bullous lesions, cutaneous adnexal neoplasms, and dermoscopy and histopathology correlation. More than 30 scientific presentations were conducted on the first day in e-posters and oral paper category. A workshop in dermatopathology glass-slide viewing and trichoscopy took place on the second day. The event concluded with the final rounds of the Dermatopathology quiz for postgraduate residents where six teams from institutions of AIIMS Bhopal, GMC Bhopal, CIMS Bilaspur, RIMS Ranchi, MGMMC Indore, SAIMS Indore participated.
The Executive Director and CEO, Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh lauded the efforts of the organizing team comprising of the organizing chairperson Prof (Dr) Vaishali Walke, (Head of the Dept of Pathology and Lab Medicine), Organizing Secretary Dr. Sramana Mukhopadhyay (Pathology), Co-chairperson Dr Prashansa Jaiswal (In-charge Department of Dermatology), Scientific Chairperson Prof Deepti Joshi, Joint Organising Secretary, Dr Jerene Mathews (Dermatology) and Treasurer Dr Manish Khandare (Dermatology) in putting up this collaborative workshop.
