Wednesday, 07 February 2024 | PNS | BALANGIR

Sudaya Budek, the wife of a migrant labour of Bahabal village under Tureikela block on Tuesday urged the Balangir Superintendent of Police (SP) to trace and rescue her husband Mahipal and their son.

In a petition to the SP, Sudaya Budek stated that her husband Mahipal and his son migrated to work in a brick kiln at Kanyapalam village under the Solabharampuram police station of Tamil Nadu in December 2023 through a middleman of Kantabanji.

However, two days after reaching there, they went missing. Later, a complaint was lodged in the Tureikela police station on December 29 in this connection.

“As there was no development in the case, we have come to meet the SP to request to trace my missing husband and son,” said Sudaya.

Zilla Adivasi Kalyan Sangh president Shyam Sundar Bhoi has demanded that the missing tribal be traced within seven days, failing which the tribal community would embark on an agitation.
