BJP cannot escape from injustice to Ankita Bhandari: Godiyal

Tuesday, 09 April 2024 | PNS | Gopeshwar

The Congress candidate from Garhwal Lok Sabha Ganesh Godiyal has said that the BJP cannot run away from the injustice meted out to Ankita Bhandari who was the daughter of Garhwal. Addressing a public meeting in Gopeshwar in Chamoli district on Monday, Godiyal said that Ankita Bhandari has become a symbol of self respect of the people of Uttarakhand and the real culprits in her murder are still at large.

“The people of Garhwal are determined to ensure that Godiyal is not defeated in the elections while the all powerful Modi government is determined to defeat me. I am standing against the hegemony, corruption and falsehood spread by the BJP and people are with me,’’ he said.

Godiyal said that the unemployment rate has scaled to 80 per cent in Uttarakhand and the ruling BJP is responsible for implementing a scheme like Agnipath which is a major blow for the youngsters of the State. He said that Uttarakhand is a land of brave soldiers and one finds many JCOs and officers in villages and towns but with Agnipath scheme these ranks will be a thing of the past. Launching an attack on the BJP government for making false promises, he said that time has come to teach BJP a lesson. Godiyal said that the BJP has given a ticket to a person who has come on a leave of one month in Uttarakhand to contest the election.
