BJP holds Sharab se Sheeshmahal campaign against Liquorgate

Monday, 08 April 2024 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

The BJP on Sunday here organised the “Sharab (alcohol) se Sheeshmahal” campaign in Connaught Place to protest against the liquor scam.  The protest was led by state BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva.

On this occasion, a large model representing the corruption Sheesh Mahal palace of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was placed outside the main gate of Palika Market in Connaught with models of alcohol bottles featuring pictures of Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh which both turned into a selfie point for thousands.

Workers also distributed anti-corruption pamphlets to people coming out of metro gates throughout the day.

Sachdeva said this palace of corruption is like Taj Mahal of corruption, which is built with the hard-earned money of Delhi’s taxpayers.

The journey from Sharab (alcohol) se Shishmahal is a testimony to how Arvind Kejriwal has plundered the people of Delhi.

He mentioned how Kejriwal indulged in the alcohol policy scandal to raise election funds and blatantly violated urban art regulations, municipal laws, and environmental regulations to build his palatial mansion.

Today, the people of Delhi cannot even cut a branch of a tree in their homes, but Arvind Kejriwal has cut hundreds of trees for his palace. Even the Punjab Police is now deployed in his security, while they used to say they would never take security.

Sachdeva claimed as soon as he came to power, Kejriwal’s gaze was fixed on big mansions, and during the COVID era, he neglected public service and built his Sheeshmahal bungalow.

Furthermore, several “AAP” leaders’ eyes are on Sheeshmahal these days, including Sanjay Singh, who went straight to Sheeshmahal as soon as he was released from jail.

The Delhi BJP President stated there is a government in Delhi which is embroiled in internal conflict. The alcohol scandal happened, the whole party knows it, but no one is accepting it; instead, they are sweeping their mistakes under the carpet and blaming each other now.

Sachdeva said it would have been better if the Kejriwal party collectively atoned for corruption today instead of resorting to a group fast.

Addressing the protest, New Delhi BJP candidate Bansuri Swaraj said the Aam Aadmi Party is playing the drama of fake empathy, but the people of Delhi understand everything, and they are ready to give an answer in the upcoming elections to the way Delhi’s youth are being pushed into addiction and alcohol shops are being opened against women. The people of Delhi will punish the Aam Aadmi Party in the elections by wiping them out on all seven seats.”

Speaking on the occasion, Kapil Mishra said, “Arvind Kejriwal is not only the most deceitful Chief Minister of Delhi but also of the entire country, who is doing exactly the opposite of what he promised before coming into politics.

Despite swearing on his children, if someone does all this work, then it can be understood how trustworthy he is.

Repentance for Kejriwal’s sins will not come from fasting for a day because the entire party has committed so many sins that even fasting for a lifetime won’t absolve them.”

The campaign was also addressed by Co-Incharge Dr. Alka Gurjar, National Media Co-Chief Sanjay Mayukh, Frontal In-charge Sumit Bhasin, Lok Sabha candidate and Kamaljeet Sahrawat, National Spokesperson Shaziya Ilmi and R.P. Singh.
