Professor (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director AIIMS Bhopal has congratulated Shri Sukhmanjit Brar, a final-year MBBS student for his selection for the esteemed Khorana Program of Scholars. The Khorana Program of Scholars is a prestigious initiative that offers a 10-12 week research elective in the USA, jointly funded by The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the Government of India, and the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) which covers all essential expenses. Sukhmanjit's outstanding performance placed him 24th among the top 5000 undergraduate research students selected across all streams in India. He is one of the 9 medical students chosen nationwide for this program. This remarkable achievement is a testament to Sukhmanjit's dedication to academic excellence and passion for research.
Sukhmanjit has secured a coveted research position at the University of California, San Francisco, in the Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Department at the Centre for Intelligent Imaging. Here, he will delve into clinical and translational research, focusing on artificial intelligence applications in cardiac and pulmonary imaging.
To commemorate his achievement, Sukhmanjit was honoured to meet the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Ajai Singh, who extended his heartfelt congratulations and encouraged Sukhmanjit to make the most of this opportunity. He advised Sukhmanjit to utilise his time in the US not only for research but also to gain insights into healthcare administration and policy making.
