: The Commissionerate police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure safe Holi celebrations in the capital city.
Around 15 platoons of police forces would be deployed across the city to prevent any untoward incident during the festival.
Besides, static posts would be set up at 31 locations to check nuisance in public places and roads. Also, 17 extra mobile patrolling vehicles apart from PCR vans would be deployed.
Extra staffs have also been provided to the control room for surveillance and coordination, said city DCP Prateek Singh.
According to Singh, strict surveillance would also be done through CCTV cameras; and if there are any untoward incidents including clashes, prompt action would be taken by police.
"Any kind of nuisance will not be tolerated. Already, there is zero tolerance towards drunken driving which will continue during Holi as well," said Singh.
He further said that hotels and other institutions have been asked to take necessary permission for organising parties as the model code of conduct for the elections is in force. Such organisers would have to inform the local police station regarding the crowd and have to get permission to use loudspeakers.
