Saturday, 13 April 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Ranchi District Administration has registered an FIR against 26 persons including the Chairman of the Central Sarna Committee for bringing a “politically motivated” tableau during the Sarhul celebrations in the city on Thursday.

The festival of Sarhul was celebrated with fervour in the entire State including the Capital City. People of tribal society took out different types of tableaux. Meanwhile, a tableau, in which former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was seen lodged in jail and ED and CBI officers were outside the jail grabbed people’s attention.

The district administration considered the tableau as a violation of the model code of conduct. Slogans were written in the tableau – Jail ka tala tootega, Hemant Soren Chhootega (The jail lock will be break, Hemant Soren will be released). It was shown in the tableau that Hemant Soren is being exploited by ED in the fight for the development of Jharkhand. In this case, an FIR has been lodged by the district administration against 26 people.

Political matters were included in the religious tableau. This is a case of violation of the model code of conduct.
