Justice (retired) Zora Singh, who was AAP’s candidate from Jalandhar in 2019, has announced his decision to contest as an independent candidate from Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency.
Justice Zora Singh, who previously headed Bargari sacrilege cases commission, declared his intention to run as an independent candidate from the Faridkot parliamentary seat. Notably, Justice Zora Singh's candidature represents a setback for AAP, given his previous affiliation with the party.
The announcement comes amidst heightened political activity in Punjab, with AAP fielding Punjabi actor Karamjit Anmol as its candidate for Faridkot — a constituency that gained considerable attention, with various political players vying for electoral supremacy.
Speaking about his decision, Justice Zora Singh emphasized that AAP, much like the Akali Dal and Congress, has failed to deliver on its promises. He highlighted the discrepancy between electoral assurances and actual governance, expressing his disillusionment with traditional political parties.
Furthermore, Justice Zora Singh underscored the importance of fulfilling electoral commitments, asserting that voters favour parties that demonstrate a genuine commitment to their stated objectives.
