A shocking incident unfolded at Basira village under the Champua police limits in Keonjhar district on Sunday as a man allegedly murdered his parents after a dispute with them.
The deceased were identified as Gora Munda and his wife Pali Munda.
According to reports, a verbal altercation had erupted between the couple and their son Dhyana Munda over a family issue in the morning. The situation escalated when Dhyana used a sharp weapon to attack his father, resulting in his immediate death.
Pali, attempting to intervene and protect her husband, also suffered severe injuries. She was taken to the local sub-divisional hospital, where she fied during treatment.
Police arrested the accused and started an investigation into the matter. The bodies were recovered and sent to the hospital for postmortem.
