A 53-year-old man who came seek approval for organ donation for the kidney transplant of his daughter died of a heart attack Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal.
His daughter is admitted in a private hospital. The incident occurred on Thursday when he was processing donor verification in front of the divisional committee. The doctor involved in the divisional committee at the spot gave CPR to the patient's father, but he could not be saved.
According to Brijendra Marscole, a resident of Kohefiza, Arun Kumar (53) lived in Gautam Buddha Nagar in Delhi. He used to work in a private job in Bhopal. His 31-year-old daughter, living in Bhopal, had kidney failure. Arun Kumar decided to donate a kidney to his daughter. On Thursday, preparations for kidney donation were being made at Hamidia Hospital after blood and other test reports.
Before kidney transplant, a panel of doctors counsels the donor and tells him about the precautions to be taken later. A panel of doctors was counseling him at Gandhi Medical College. Meanwhile, Arun Kumar felt dizzy and became unconscious. He was immediately taken to Hamidia Hospital, where he was declared dead. On receiving the information, the police established a case and started an investigation.
Arun Kumar's daughter is admitted in Bansal Hospital. He has to undergo kidney transplant surgery. Was donating for the daughter. Arun Kumar's son-in-law Anand Thakur told that my wife was to undergo kidney transplant. For this, counseling was to be held in Hamidia Hospital. We reached there at 12 o'clock with both the donor and the receiver. Were waiting for their turn. The number came at around 1:30. We went inside. The doctors asked many questions to the father-in-law. Meanwhile he became unconscious. Doctors gave him CPR and called an ambulance. The ambulance arrived at the library building near GMC in about 10 minutes. After this we reached there in emergency. His ECG plane arrived there. It was found out that he had died.
Anand Thakur told that the wife's kidney transplant was to be done at Bansal Hospital. My father-in-law's tests regarding this were done there. This specifically included cardiac clearance from Bansal Hospital. At the same time, he was found fit in other tests also. He generally did not have any disease.
First of all, some medical tests of the donor are done. To know whether the person is suitable for donation or not.
There are two most important aspects in these tests. Compatibility of donor and receiver and medical condition of the donor i.e. his being physically healthy.
All test results are positive and the doctor's ethical committee issues a certificate for donation. Kidney transplant was to be done on the basis of this certificate.
