All the cadets of 4 MP BN NCC organized a program on Wednesday on the “Nai Roshni Scheme” under the leadership of the Commanding Officer, Colonel Ajay Kohli. The guest at the event was social activist Meeta Wadhwa.
This scheme majorly focuses on the leadership development of minority community's women According to the Sachar Report of 2011 the participation and involvement of minority women compound to the majority one is only 51%, in the workplace it is confined to 13% and their political representation is only 1% in rajya sabha and 7% in lok sabha. Under the "Nai Roshni Scheme" these minority women are provided interventions for leadership development, financial literacy as well as skill development. Through an online webinar video conference lecture respected ANOs along with the cadets joined and got enlightened over the same.
About 10 institutes joined through the online meet, total strength comprised 180 cadets.10 PI Staff/ANOs. It emboldens minority women to move out of the confinements of their home and hold a dignified position in our society. This initiative also promoted the women empowerment amalgamated with the idea of digital India and many such events will be further promoted.
