Ranchi Police has seized 3950 kilograms of Doda being sent from Ranchi to Rajasthan. The market value of the seized Doda is around Rs 6 crore.
On the basis of secret information received by Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Chandan Kumar Sinha, the police team has caught a truck loaded with Doda near Huvaghatu School of Namkum police station area. The Police have also arrested truck owner cum driver Harpal Singh. The SSP gave this information in a press conference on Tuesday.
During the press briefing Sinha said that on Monday night information was received that Doda was being loaded in a truck and being sent to Rajasthan. “This information was given to the rural SP. Taking immediate action on the information; the Rural SP formed a team. The team raided and seized a truck laden with 3950 kg of doda from near Huvaghatu School and also arrested one person. The arrested person has been identified as Harpal Singh, a resident of Haryana. Along with being the truck owner, he is also the truck driver. DSP One and Namkum police station team and other officials were present in the formed team,” he added.
