Sarah Sharma inducted in CBI as DIG

The Union Government has inducted Odisha-cadre IPS Officer Sarah Sharma into the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a Deputy Inspector General.

 

The 2010-batch IPS officer Sarah Sharma was inducted as the DIG in CBI on a deputation basis for a period of five years, according to a letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Odisha Government.

 

In the letter, the MHA has asked the Odisha Government to relieve her immediately enabling her to take up a new assignment at the Centre.

 

Sarah Sharma was among three officers of Odisha Police who were part of the CBI investigation in 2023 into the ethnic violence in Manipur. Prior to joining the CBI probe, she was serving as the SP (Vigilance), Sambalpur.
