A bloody clash was reported in two groups in Sadar area of Sagar city of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, allegedly resulting in stone-pelting and injuries.

The incident took place on Saturday night in the Sadar area under the Cantt police station limits. Some individuals sustained injuries during the altercation, prompting the police to intervene and disperse the crowd using teargas shells.

Cantt police station in-charge Ravindra Singh Chouhan told that three FIRs were registered, and efforts were underway to identify the individuals involved in the clash. "There was an immediate reason behind the incident. A person was driving an auto-rickshaw and he was beaten up by a crowd following a dispute. Later, persons from another group also gathered which led to the stone-pelting incident," he said.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek Tiwari confirmed that the police received information about the dispute and intervened with teargas to control the situation. He mentioned that the police were reviewing CCTV footage and assured appropriate action.

Regarding claims that the dispute stemmed from playing a religious song, Tiwari stated that investigations were ongoing based on statements from the injured, CCTV footage, and eyewitness accounts.

Local BJP MLA Pradeep Laria, who visited the scene, alleged that the incident was "pre-planned." He asserted that a person named Saurabh was attacked by a large group while he was at his home, resulting in injuries, and accused others of storing bottles and stones for the confrontation.

"It was a pre-planned incident. It is a matter of police investigation how bottles and stones were stored inside houses (in the clash-affected area). A person, named Saurabh, was attacked by a group of 250-300 persons when he was in his house and he was injured. Some others were also injured in the attack with stones and bottles," he alleged.
