State of the art labs set up in over 450 schools across the State

With the aim of providing quality scientific education to the children of government schools of the state, in the first phase, science laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) equipped with state-of-the-art equipment have been established in 80 Chief Minister Excellent Schools, 325 Model Schools and 59 Model Schools.

These laboratories have been established in view of the increasing inclination of children towards science stream after the matriculation examination. Its aim is to develop scientific talents and provide quality scientific education to school children by developing the spirit of 'Aspiration, Exploration and innovation' among them. Under this, continuous efforts are being made to increase the ambition among children towards scientific education and to encourage them towards exploration and innovation by establishing state-of-the-art scientific laboratories. At present 539 laboratory assistants have been appointed in the state. They are also being given continuous training. Their training is now in the final stages. Lab manual has been prepared and sent to all the schools.

State Program Officer of Quality Education, Abhinav Kumar said that these state-of-the-art science laboratories or their implementation are being continuously reviewed at the state level. Besides, it is also being reviewed by Vidya Samiksha Kendra. Qualified laboratory assistants have been appointed for each science institute. Science teachers of the school have been made their nodal officers. These laboratory assistants have been instructed to conduct at least one practical class every day in the school. Strict action will be taken against those who are negligent or lax in conducting classes.

Science laboratory assistants have been directed to teach science to children by making proper use of the 100 videos related to scientific education uploaded on the J-Guruji portal. Also, photographs and informational content should be displayed on the walls of classrooms from classes 9 to 12, so that scientific understanding develops among the children of the science faculty.

A target has been set by the State Education Project Council to establish science laboratories in 2700 high schools in the second phase. With the aim of developing scientific skills in the children of remote rural areas of the state and benefiting from scientific exploration and innovation, the State Education Project has started an exercise to establish science laboratories in 2700 schools. Efforts will be started in this direction soon. So that children studying in high schools can also be given its benefit.
