Senior IAS officer Vandana Dadel has been made the new Home Secretary of Jharkhand. The Election Commission had given instructions to remove the Home Secretary of six states including Jharkhand. The Commission had sought three names from the State Government, after which the Jharkhand Government sent three names, including Manish Ranjan, Vandana Dadel and Abu Bakar Siddiqui, to the Election Commission.
The Election Commission has approved the name of Vandana Dadel. Before this, Arwa Rajkamal was relieved from the charge of Home Secretary by the Election Commission.
Vandan Dadel was Home Secretary earlier also. On March 5, Arwa Rajamakal was also given the additional charge of Secretary of Home, Disaster Management and Prison Department. Since then, questions were being raised over the government's decision to make Rajmakal the Home Secretary, ignoring the preferences of many senior IAS officers in the state.
