Veteran actor Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after his family decided to take him home, “where he will continue his recovery under medical supervision”. He left the Breach Candy Hospital at 7.30 am along with his family members.
Dharmendra, who had been admitted to the hospital on October 31 after he complained of breathlessness, came into sharp focus in the media on Tuesday, after sections of television channels reported his death. So much so that Dharmendra’s actress-wife Hema Malini and her
daughter Esha Deol slammed the media “for spreading false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering”.
In a statement issued to the media on Wednesday, Dharmendra’s family said, “Dharmendra has been
discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect the family’s privacy.”
