Lawrence brother deported from US

Wednesday, 19 November 2025 | PNS

In a significant development for ongoing investigations into high-profile murders, Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a prime suspect in the killings of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, has been deported from the United States to India. The 24-year-old fugitive, who has been evading Indian authorities for years, is expected to arrive in the country as early as Wednesday. His deportation follows a coordinated effort between Indian law enforcement and US authorities, marking a potential turning point in several organised crime cases linked to the Bishnoi syndicate. Anmol was apprehended by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in November 2024, shortly after Mumbai Police submitted an extradition request. The proposal came after American officials alerted Indian counterparts to his presence in the country, where he had been living under the radar. Since his arrest, he has been held in detention pending deportation proceedings.
