Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to United States President Donald Trump on Thursday in what officials described as a “very warm conversation,” during which the two leaders reviewed progress in the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. Both sides expressed satisfaction at the steady expansion of cooperation across multiple sectors.
According to the official readout, Modi and Trump discussed ways to maintain momentum in bilateral trade talks and explored avenues to widen collaboration in critical technologies, energy, defence, security, and other priority areas under the India-US COMPACT framework - a mechanism aimed at boosting military partnership, economic engagement and technology cooperation for the coming decades.
