Hectic lobbying began on Monday among NDA allies to finalise cabinet positions ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new Bihar Government on Thursday.
While major stakeholders, the BJP and the JD(U), are engaging directly, smaller allies — like the LJP, led by Chirag Paswan, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) led by Upendra Kushwaha — held separate meetings with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the national Capital.
“Met Union Minister and Bihar BJP in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde, who worked tirelessly to ensure a massive victory of the NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections, 2025, and congratulated them,” Manjhi, posted on social media post following his meeting.
Although newly elected MLAs of the JD(U) met on Monday evening, a source said the party will elect Nitish Kumar as the legislature party leader on Wednesday, after which he will tender his resignation as incumbent CM.
Meanwhile, BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal informed that the party legislators will meet on Tuesday. The last Cabinet meeting of the outgoing NDA Government in Bihar on Monday authorised CM Kumar to dissolve the Assembly.
