Gyanti Cricket Academy kicked off the 19th Hari Chand Memorial Under-17 Aarya Cricket Tournament with a resounding 92-run victory over Vijay Dhaiya Academy, Gurugram, in the opening match at Ramjas Complex, Patel Nagar. Delhi Under-16 all-round sensation Dev Mehra starred with a gritty 35 runs and a devastating 4/26 spell, setting the tone for a clinical performance by the hosts.
Batting first after being put in to bat, Gyanti posted a formidable 280/8 in 40 overs, powered by a top-order blitz led by Arya Singh’s elegant 58 and Kushagra Aggarwal’s anchoring 47. Mehra’s knock at number 4 provided crucial momentum in the middle order, while the lower order chipped in to push the total beyond 280. Abhijay Singh (2/46) and Garv Rohilla (2/54) were the standout bowlers for Vijay Dhaiya, but they couldn’t stem the flow of runs on a batsman-friendly track.
