A flag march was conducted in sensitive and key areas of the city in preparation for the upcoming festivals, including Holika Dahan, Dhulhendi, Rangpanchami, Ramzan, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Chaitra Navratri, to ensure peace and security. The march covered a radius of approximately 40 km, with around 300 soldiers and officers, along with 40 four-wheelers.
The march began at around 4:00 pm from Lal Parade Ground, led by Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra, accompanied by Additional Police Commissioners Awadhesh Goswami and Pankaj Srivastava, along with other senior officials Deputy Commissioners of Police Riyaz Iqbal, Jitendra Singh Pawar, Sanjay Singh, and Sanjay Agarwal.
The procession covered key areas including Lily Talkies Tiraha, Jinsi Tiraha, Pul Bogda Bridge, Prabhat Square, Ashok Garden, 80 Feet Road, Bharat Talkies Over Bridge, Sangam Talkies Tiraha, Kali Mandir, Char Batti Square, Ret Ghat, Royal Market Tiraha, Lalghati Square, and finally returned to Ret Ghat, passing through Polytechnic Square, Raj Bhavan Square, and concluding back at Lal Parade Ground.
A total of 300 personnel from RAF, QRF, SAF, and local police stations participated, alongside various forces including traffic and special security units. The march also involved 40 vehicles, such as Rudra, Vajra, Thana Mobile, Gypsy, and buses, for enhanced visibility and security.
The main purpose of this flag march was to reinforce public safety during the upcoming festivals and create an atmosphere of deterrence against any miscreants or anti-social elements. It aimed to reassure the public, ensuring that they can celebrate the festivals in peace and harmony.
