Mahavatar Babaji is one of the Paramgurus of Yogoda Satsanga lineage. Mahavatar Babaji’s Smriti Divas was commemorated in the midst of joy permeating the ambience of Yogoda Ashram, Ranchi on 25th of July. On this day in 1920, Mahavatar Babaji visited Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda at his parental home in Kolkata to bless him, before Yoganandaji embarked on his journey to the United States to spread the ancient science of Kriya Yoga worldwide.
Commemoration began with a special online group meditation led by Swami Lalitananda Giri in Morning where he also read some excerpts from one of the world’s most acclaimed spiritual book “Autobiography of a Yogi” narrating an anecdote on how Mahavatar Babaji visited Yoganandaji to bless him for his worldwide mission of spreading the ancient science of Kriya Yoga to the west. Devotees from different parts of India participated in this special meditation.
Thereafter from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Brahmachari Kaivalyananda and Br. Prashantanandaji with other sannyasis led a devotional sankirtan which was joined by devotees attending the programme while Guru Puja was being performed. After the sankirtan, prasad was distributed to the devotees and sannyasis present there.
