Two youth in police net for assaulting traffic cop

The Ranchi police have arrested two persons in connection with the assault of traffic cop near Kathal More a week back. After the arrest, the police also paraded both the accused on the road.

The arrested persons have been identified as Hans Yadav alias Putti and Munna Yadav alias Akhilesh Yadav who attacked a Home Guard jawan on his refusal to block the road during traffic duty. There was a lot of anger over the attack on the police. DIG cum SSP Ranchi Chandan Kumar Sinha took the matter very seriously.

After the incident both the accused had absconded, but it is said that the law has a long reach and under the same law, both were caught today. DIG cum SSP Ranchi has confirmed the arrest of both the accused.

Home Guard jawan Rohit Ganjhu was badly injured by attacking him with a stone. After the incident, both the accused fled. The police was searching for the accused. Finally the police arrested the accused. Both the accused were paraded on the road in the same area where they had attacked the police.

The two are auto drivers who attacked three traffic police personnel over the removal of an autorickshaw from the road near Kathal More under the Nagri police station limits on last Monday. According to the video, which went viral, the traffic police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the drivers. One of the accused hit traffic police man Rohit Ganjhu with a stone.

SP (Traffic ) Kailash Karmali said, "A police complaint would be lodge and strict action would be taken against the accused."Condemning the incident, Jharkhand Police Men's Association vice-president Brajesh Kumar Pandey said, "The personnel, who are protecting the people, are being attacked. We demand the immediate arrest of the accused."
