Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards providing access to clean drinking water to its citizens, saying over 2.12 crore families now have access to pure drinking water. It is a substantial improvement from the previous figures.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogi reiterated the government’s commitment to the ‘Har Ghar Nal- Har Ghar Jal’ campaign, aimed at ensuring every rural household in the state has access to clean drinking water.

He emphasised the importance of completing this task within a stipulated time frame to cover all remaining households systematically.

Highlighting the significance of Jal Jeevan Mission, Yogi described it as a testament to the government’s dedication to improving the quality of life for its citizens. He emphasised that providing tap water to every household is not just a promise but Modi’s guarantee symbolising a commitment to completion.

The chief minister also addressed the specific needs of the Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions, where access to clean drinking water was once a dream. He assured that these regions are a top priority and plans are underway to expedite the provision of tap water to every household.

Recognising the importance of water conservation and awareness, Yogi stressed the need to educate villagers about the significance of water and promote techniques like rainwater harvesting. He emphasised the role of water committees and panchayat representatives in raising awareness and ensuring community participation.

With the onset of the summer season, the chief minister emphasised the need for timely arrangements to address potential water crises in the Bundelkhand and Vindhya regions. He directed the officials to ensure that no family faces drinking water problems, even for a single day, during the summer months.

Addressing concerns about road damage due to drinking water projects, the chief minister instructed the executing agencies to promptly repair roads upon completion of the projects. He stressed on the importance of accountability in ensuring that infrastructure projects do not adversely affect public safety and convenience.
