48th - Shalaka Tribal Painting Exhibition till April 30

With a view to provide a meaningful platform for the exhibition and sale of paintings to the tribal painters of the state, the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum organizes a combination of exhibition and sale of any one tribal painter in 'Likhandara Exhibition Gallery' every month under the name "Shalaka". In this sequence, an exhibition-cum-sale of paintings of Gond community painter Smt. Sandeepti Paraste has been organized from April 3, 2024. The 48th Shalaka Painting Exhibition will continue till April 30, 2024 (Tuesday to Sunday). 26 paintings made by him have been displayed in this exhibition.

Gond painter Mrs. Paraste was born in the year 1992 in village Rasoi in tribal dominated Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh. Her childhood was spent in a rural environment surrounded by forests and mountains and she grew up in a farming family. Sandeepti, the eldest of three siblings, has received formal education till class 12th.

After her marriage with Gond painter Dwarka Paraste in the year 2011, Mrs. Paraste learned and understood the nuances of traditional Gond painting style by staying in his company and with time gradually tried to develop her own independent style based on her experiences. of. Currently residing in Bhopal, you are independently engaged in Gond painting. In your paintings, depictions of nature and environment along with animals and birds are prominently seen.
