The Friends Helping Club, Brahmapur, conducted its 2nd eye donation motivation programme in 2024 and 26th donation in the last one year.
Vasadi Annapurna (94), a resident of Desibehera Street of Brahmapur, died on Monday evening at MKCG Medical College Hospital due to old age. The family members came forward for eye donation and accordingly, Dr Alok Sharma, Dr Manish Oram of Eye Department, MKCG under the direction of Dr Suchitra Das (HOD) collected both the eye balls of deceased Annapurna.
Annapurna is survived by her two sons Satyanarayana and Someswara Rao and four daughters K Kasturi, S Satyavati, S Sarada and E Sandhyarani.
Members of Friends Helping J Mohan Rao and Jammula Suresh while family members of Annapurna, V Nitin, Mrs K Rojashree, B Kavita, V Neelima, T Jagadish, V Anil and B Gopal were present at the time of eye donation.
