In a surprise move, the Bahujan Samaj Party announced the names of five more candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, changing its nominee against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi.
The BSP has once again changed its candidate from Varanasi and has again given its ticket to Athar Jamal Lari against Prime Minister Modi.
At first Athar was given the BSP ticket from Varanasi but later he was replaced by Syed Niaz.
However, the BSP has once again named Jamal Lari as its candidate from Varanasi. The Congress is fielding UPCC president Ajay Rai against Prime Minister Modi.
Moreover, the BSP has named Ramesh Singh Patel as its candidate from Allahabad, Moinuddin Ahmed Khan alias Haji Daddan Khan from Shravasti, Harishankar Singh alias Dada Chauhan from Bhadohi and Dr Ramsamuj from Bansgaon Lok Sabha seat reserved for Scheduled Castes.
The BSP also announced its candidate for the bypoll to Gainsari assembly constituency in Balrampur district. Mohammed Haaris Khan is its candidate from Gainsari.
