In a bid to bolster community support systems,  Jeevan, suicide prevention centre launched a comprehensive refresher training programme aimed at enhancing mental health support networks. Held over two days at SNTI, N Road, Bistupur, the event brought together volunteers eager to make a difference.

 

Led by esteemed trainers Dr. Jeoraj Jain, director, Jeevan, Shankar Narayanan, and Manjit, the programme delved into various aspects of befriending, communication, and grief support. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, role plays, and discussions, honing their skills to provide empathetic and effective assistance.

 

The training programme not only equips volunteers with practical tools but also emphasizes the importance of confidentiality, referrals, and self-care. With a focus on fostering a culture of support and understanding, Jeevan aims to create resilient communities capable of facing life's challenges.

 

The enthusiasm and dedication exhibited by volunteers reflect a growing awareness of mental health issues and a collective commitment to building a more compassionate society.
