Governor CP Radhakrishnan while interacting with the team members who had come to study 'Economic Security' in the state of Jharkhand under the 'National Security and Strategic Studies' course organized by 'Faculty & Course Members' of National Defense College, New Delhi at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.
He said that both security and economic security are important for development. At present our country is the fifth largest economy in the world. He said that I have visited different countries. He said that National Defense College, New Delhi has a glorious history. He said that he is keen to establish the Jharkhand Defense University established in the state as a military university.
The Governor said that the state of Jharkhand was formed on November 15, 2000 by separating it from Bihar and when this Bill was tabled in the Parliament, he was a Lok Sabha MP and had the privilege of casting his vote on it.
The Governor said that there are immense possibilities for development of tourism here. Many places here attract tourists. Jharkhand state has many talents in the field of sports, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, under whose leadership India won the World Cup in 2011, hails from here. Jharkhand is called the 'land of archery'. Many daughters here are making the country and Jharkhand proud by performing their best in hockey.
The team members of 'Course Members' present on the said occasion expressed their views.
