I was isolated and neglected in JMM: Sita Soren

Thursday, 21 March 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Former Jama MLA and BJP leader Sita Soren today expressed her anger on social media citing reasons behind leaving JMM and joining BJP. Sita Soren the eldest daughter-in-law of JMM patriarch and former Chief Minister Shibu Soren on Tuesday joined the BJP in the presence of its national general secretary Vinod Tawde and Jharkhand poll in-charge Laxmikant Bajpai at its headquarters in New Delhi.

The three-term MLA's decision to join the BJP is a shot in the arm for the party's efforts to boost its connection with the scheduled tribes, a community which has been the main vote base of the JMM.

Sita Soren on Wednesday sharing her emotion on social platform X wrote that the change that came in the life of me and my children after the demise of my husband late Durga Soren ji was no less than a terrible dream. My daughters and I were not only neglected, but we were also socially and politically isolated. God knows how I have brought up my daughters in this period. My daughters and I were left in a void from which it seemed impossible for us to get out.

I lost not only a husband, but also a guardian, a partner and my biggest supporter. There is no political reason behind my resignation. This is a voice for me and my daughters against the suffering, neglect and injustice done to us.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which my husband nurtured with his blood and sweat, has today deviated from its values and duties. For me, it was not just a party, but a part of my family. My decision may have been painful, but it was inevitable. I have learned that it is most important to listen to your soul and stay true to your ideals. I request all the people of Jharkhand to see my resignation as a personal struggle and not as a political move.

Sita Soren further states that today, I request the people who are shedding crocodile tears by invoking the name of late Durga Soren ji, who sacrificed his life for Jharkhand and Jharkhandis, not to put a finger in my mouth. Otherwise, if I and my children open up and expose the horrifying truth, then the dreams of many people of political and power will be shattered and the people of Jharkhand will spit in the name of those people who have always conspired to eliminate Durga Soren and her people.

Earlier, on Tuesday Sita before tending her resignation from JMM primary membership wrote an emotional letter to former Chief Minister and JMM patriarch Shibu Soren. Sita in her letter to JMM patriarch addressed several issues where she has been left to neglect by party leadership.
