Jharkhand cell of Kodha Gang of snatchers busted

In recent times, chain snatching incidents were being carried out continuously from women in Ranchi. Considering the seriousness of this matter, Ranchi SSP was monitoring the action against the snatchers.

On Tuesday, an intensive anti-crime checking campaign was conducted across Ranchi. Meanwhile, at Harihar Singh Road of Bariatu police station area, two people riding on a bike started changing the route after seeing the police. When the police moved towards them, the person sitting behind got off the bike and ran away. But one was caught by Bariatu police. Then it was revealed that the arrested person was Sunny, the leader of the Kodha gang in Jharkhand.

Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha said that Sunny is the leader of the gang of Katihar, Bihar. Members of the gang lived in a rented house in Bharkunda in Ramgarh district. They used to come to Ranchi every day, do recce of women, snatch the gold chains from their necks and run away back to Ramgarh. The SSP said that to carry out snatching incidents, the Kodha gang first used to steal the bike, and then they used to carry out the crimes using the stolen bike.

Tools for breaking the bike have also been recovered from the arrested criminal. Itching powder has also been found. These people also used itching powder during snatching. Ranchi SSP said that this gang is very vicious. He got a SIM card issued from Bengal on a fake Aadhaar card and used it in his mobile so that the police could not get his exact location. Many fake Aadhaar cards have also been recovered from the arrested criminal.
