Jharkhand to witness rains, hailstorms for two days

he State is likely to witness rainfall coupled with gusty winds and hailstorm on March 19 and 20 said the Indian Meteorological Department office in Ranchi on Monday. The Met office said that a turf is going through Jharkhand to coastal Andhra Pradesh, which is bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal.

There will be widespread impact of the turf on March 19 in the State. There will be heavy rains along with hail at many places in several districts. Winds can blow at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour, said head of Met office Ranchi Abhishek Anand here on Monday.

Anand said that the maximum temperature in the State may gradually drop by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius during the next 2 to 3 days. According to the Centre, light to moderate rain with thunder is expected at many places in the state on March 19.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder at some places over western, central and southern parts of the state.

He said that there is a possibility of rain at some places in the south and adjacent central parts of the state on March 21. It is likely to affect East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Simdega, Khunti, Gumla, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro districts.

According to Anand, an alert has been issued for March 19 to 21. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning at some places. Strong wind may also blow during the period.

Anand said that winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. It is likely to affect East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Simdega, Khunti, Gumla, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro districts.

According to Anand, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and strong wind gust at isolated places in the western, central and southern parts of the state on March 20. The maximum wind speed is likely to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.

There is a possibility of thunder and lightning at isolated places in the south-eastern and adjacent central parts on March 21.

There is a possibility of hailstorm at isolated places in Gumla, Khunti, Ranchi, Simdega, Lohardaga and West Singhbhum districts of the state. There will also be strong gusts of wind here. Its speed is expected to be 50 to 60 kilometers per hour.
