No room for grief, sorrow in Sanatan dharma: Yogi

Wednesday, 27 March 2024 | PNS | Lucknow

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also Gorakshapeethadheeshwar,  said that in Sanatan dharma, there is no room for grief and sorrow; rather, it fosters zeal and enthusiasm.

Participating in the ‘Lord Narasimha Shobha Yatra’, organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Shri Holikotsav Samiti on the occasion of Holi, he said: “The festival of Holi conveys this message. It inherently embodies the spirit of fostering a harmonious society. It also underscores the principles of ‘Seh Astitva’, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, and ‘Sarve Santu Niramaya’, which are fundamental to Sanatan dharma.”

“Holi is a festival of excitement and enthusiasm. Joy and enthusiasm exist in a safe, happy, and prosperous society. Our society is safe and prosperous, that is why we all are celebrating the thousands of years old tradition of Holi with zeal and enthusiasm and are also expressing gratitude towards our heritage,” he said.

He noted that throughout history, whenever there has been a crisis in Sanatan dharma and detrimental tendencies have prevailed in society, divine incarnations have emerged to eliminate these tendencies and propel society forward.

CM Yogi said, “This Holi is special, this Holi is divine, this Holi is grand. Followers of Sanatan dharma all over the world are celebrating their first Holi after Lord Shri Ram Lalla re-established himself in his grand temple.”

Following his Holi greetings, he conducted the ‘aarti’ of Lord Narasimha according to customs. Subsequently, he offered flowers, colours, abir, and gulal, along with coconut and gujiya to Lord Narasimha.

After the worship, Yogi embraced the spirit of Holi, showering flower petals and colours on people. In no time, the entire crowd, including Yogi, was immersed in colours. Amidst chants of Jai Shri Ram, the atmosphere was filled with festive joy.

On this occasion, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Dr Mahendra Aggarwal, MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, Mayor Dr Manglesh Srivastava, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Om Jalan, Surjeet, Atma ji, Shri Holikotsav Committee president Manoj Jalan, Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Das alias Satua Baba from Kashi, Mahant Ravindra Das of Kalibari etc were also present.
