As the vibrant festival of Holi approaches, South Eastern Railway has made special arrangements to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic. With an aim to ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers, the railway authority has announced the operation of several Holi special trains across different routes.
Ranchi–Gorakhpur–Ranchi Holi Special (08821/08822).For travellers commuting between Ranchi and Gorakhpur, the Ranchi–Gorakhpur–Ranchi Holi Special has been scheduled. Departing from Ranchi at 9:45 pm on March 23, the train is set to arrive at Gorakhpur by 4:00 pm the following day. The return journey from Gorakhpur to Ranchi will commence at 5:00 am on March 24, reaching Ranchi by 9:25 pm the same day. This special train will make stopovers at Muri and Bokaro Steel City within the South Eastern Railway jurisdiction.
Shalimar–Darbhanga–Shalimar Holi Special (08825/08826). Travelers between Shalimar and Darbhanga can opt for the Shalimar–Darbhanga–Shalimar Holi Special. Departing from Shalimar at 9:55 pm on March 23, the train is scheduled to reach Darbhanga by 10:00 am the following day. The return journey from Darbhanga to Shalimar will commence at 6:00 pm on March 24, arriving at Shalimar by 5:45 am the next day.
Tatanagar–Saharsa–Tatanagar Holi Special (08819/08820). For those traveling between Tatanagar and Saharsa, the Tatanagar–Saharsa–Tatanagar Holi Special is in service. Departing from Tatanagar at 1:20 pm on March 23, the train is expected to arrive at Saharsa by 3:00 pm the following day. The return journey from Saharsa to Tatanagar will start at 6:00 pm on March 24, reaching Tatanagar by 8:45 pm the same day.
Ranchi–Jaynagar Holi Special (08838/08839). Another route covered by the Holi specials is the Ranchi–Jaynagar route. Departing from Ranchi at 11:55 pm on March 23, the train will arrive at Jaynagar by 4:30 pm the next day. The return journey from Jaynagar to Ranchi will commence at 11:50 pm on March 24, reaching Ranchi by 4:45 pm the following day.
Howrah–Mumbai Central–Howrah Holi Special (08843/08844). For commuters between Howrah and Mumbai Central, the Howrah–Mumbai Central–Howrah Holi Special has been introduced. Departing from Howrah at 3:00 am on March 25, the train will reach Mumbai Central by 5:30 pm the next day. The return journey from Mumbai Central to Howrah will start at 10:35 am on March 27, reaching Howrah by 8:05 pm the following day.
Ranchi–Purnea–Santragachi Holi Special (08849/08850). A special train service between Ranchi and Purnea has been arranged, departing Ranchi at 5:30 am on March 23 and arriving at Purnea by 9:00 pm the same day. The return journey from Purnea to Ranchi will commence at 11:55 pm on March 23, reaching Ranchi by 2:25 pm the next day.
Tatanagar–Saharsa–Tatanagar Holi Special (08853/08854). Operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between March 18 and April 5, the Tatanagar–Saharsa–Tatanagar Holi Special is a convenient option for travelers. Departing from Tatanagar at 7:20 pm, the train will reach Saharsa by 11:20 am the next day. The return journey from Saharsa to Tatanagar will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between March 19 and April 6, departing Saharsa at 1:00 pm and arriving at Tatanagar by 5:00 am the following day.
