State employees demand 4 per cent raise in DA

Thursday, 14 March 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The Uttarakhand State Employees Joint Federation on Wednesday demanded the State government to provide a four per cent increase in dearness allowance before the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). The president of the federation Arun Pandey met Shailesh Bagauli, the secretary to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and presented their two demands. The first demand was to give a four per cent raise in dearness allowance to the State government employees like the central government either before Holi or implementation of MCC, the state spokesman of the federation RP Joshi said. He informed that the central government recently increased the DA of its employees from 46 per cent to 50 per cent and they expect the same from the State government here. He said that Bagauli has assured the federation members to take this matter to the Finance department for consideration. Joshi said that the second demand was to release the salary of the Panchayati Raj employees which was withheld when the employees went on strike. The proposal to issue the salary of the strike period was passed in the cabinet meeting a few months ago but the administration is yet to issue a government order for salary release. They appealed to the government to ensure employees get their salary as soon as possible. Joshi said that Bagauli talked to the secretary of Panchayati Raj Chandresh Yadav on telephone after listening to their issue.  He directed him to take action after which Yadav assured the federation that Panchayati Raj will issue the salary of all employees soon, Joshi said.
