TVSN Prasad takes charge as Hry CS; Kaushal on leave

In a major administrative reshuffle in Haryana, the 1988-batch IAS officer TVSN Prasad on Friday took charge as state’s Chief Secretary after incumbent Sanjeev Kaushal proceeded on leave. Few days after Nayab Singh Saini took over as Chief Minister, Kaushal proceeded on leave, and Prasad was posted in his place.

 

As per the government order issued on Friday, Prasad has been posted as the Chief Secretary “during the leave period of Sanjeev Kaushal”. A 1986-batch IAS officer, Kaushal’s retirement is due on July 31 this year. After Kaushal, Prasad is the senior most IAS officer in the state.

 

Prasad has been looking after the state Home department since August 2022. In September 2023, the Government had given him the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) too.

 

Moreover, V Umashankar has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to CM; Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Haryana Citizen Resources Information Department; Administrative Secretary in-charge of CM Window; Additional Chief Secretary to Haryana, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture Department; Foreign Cooperation Department.

 

The 2003-batch IAS officer Amit Agrawal has been transferred and made additional Principal Secretary to Government, Haryana; Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited managing director; Commissioner and Secretary to Government Haryana, Development and Panchayat Department. HCS officer Sudhanshu Gautam has been made an officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister. HCS officer Virat has been made OSD to Principal Secretary to CM.

 

The Information, Public Relations and Languages Department on Friday issued an order relieving three media coordinators — Jagmohan Anand, Randeep Ghanghas, Raj Kumar Kapoor — from their duties with immediate effect.
