Two brothers on Thursday attacked the Municipal Corporation team in JP Nagar, Bhopal. They beat up the employees when they demanded separate disposal of dry and wet waste.
Police have registered a case in the matter. Here, the corporation's garbage vehicle employees have warned not to collect garbage from Friday if the accused are not arrested. In such a situation, the wheels of about 450 garbage vehicles may stop.
Corporation employee Mohd. Sajid (28), resident of Shahjahanabad, Rekha Ingle and Karan Ingle were beaten up. On Thursday afternoon, he had reached street number 3 of JP Nagar of Ward 15 for door-to-door garbage collection. Meanwhile, Tariq's father Kammu Khan and his younger brother Chhotu came to dump the garbage. The employees told them to give dry and wet waste separately. This thing displeased him. Both the brothers started abusing and assaulting the corporation workers. Mohamamd Sajid told that both the brothers also talked about cutting him with a sword.
Mohammad Sajid said, 'Somehow all three employees left the spot. Reached Gautam Nagar police station along with fellow employees. There was siege here for some time. After this, the police have registered a case against both the brothers for assault, abuse and threat to kill.
About 450 garbage collection vehicles run in Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Government Vehicle Driver Mechanic Employees Union has warned not to drive vehicles from Friday if the accused are not arrested by evening. If this happens, door-to-door garbage collection will not be possible on Friday.
