A woman was found dead in the Bindu Sagar lake near the Lingaraj Temple in Old Town here on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Trupti Das. She was a resident of Nayapalli in the city.
The Lingaraj police recovered the body and sent it to the Capital Hospital here for postmortem.
Though the cause of the death was yet to be ascertained, it was being suspected that she drowned in the water body in previous night.
Police registered an unnatural death case in this matter.
As per her family members, Trupti was mentally-challenged. She went to the Lingaraj Temple on Thursday but didn’t return home, following which her kin lodged a missing complaint with the Nayapalli police.
