Anandiben's spouse won't join AAP

Wednesday, 08 January 2014 | PNS | Gandhinagar

Mafatlal Patel, husband of senior Minister Anandiben Patel, had announced to join the AAP. His decision had created ripples in the political circle of Gujarat.

However, later on the Revenue Minister’s husband dropped the idea to join the AAP. Sources said that Mafatlal changed decision due to pressure from his family, especially daughter Anar Patel, who runs an NGO, ‘Gramshree’, for the upliftment of underprivileged women in rural areas.

Patel who represented Ahmedabad District Panchayat as BJP candidate between 1980 and 2000 confirmed that he changed the decision after talking opinions of his children.
