Bahubali: The Conclusion is releasing on April 28, 2017. Sunday Pioneer brings you four theories on why Kattappa could have killed Bahubali
THEORY NO 1:
A love triangle
One theory is that Kattappa, the loyal Army chief of Mahishmati kingdom sworn to follow the throne, kills Bahubali because of a love triangle. After Bahubali becomes king, he falls in love with Devasena (Anushka Shetty). To make matters worse Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati) is also in love with her. There is a condition here — whosoever Devasena marries would have to abdicate the thrown. Bahubali agrees and leaves Maishmati.
Once Bahubali departs, the kingdom is under attack again. Remember KalakeyaIJ Bahubali returns to save Mahishmati. Bhallala Deva fears that the reins of the kingdom will go back to Bahubali and orders Kattappa to kill Bahubali. He does so as he is sworn to follow the orders of the king.
THEORY NO 2
Bahubali is still alive!
There is a huge possibility that Bahubali is still alive and that Kattappa never killed him. This is a twist that very few could have thought of. Why show or have Kattappa reveal in the first part that he killed BahubaliIJ It is a game that kings play — all about politics and having power.
In an ensuing war where Bahubali is called upon to save Mahishmati, Kattappa knowing that his master’s life is in danger, hatches a plot wherein it looks that he has killed him. But then why let Devasena suffer and be in chains, one would wonderIJ All is fair in war and saving the lives of many at the cost of his wife, is what Bahubali does. He is willing to be parted from his love as long as his people are protected. Why has he not yet come out in the open even though, the present king, Bhallala Deva is committing atrocities on his peopleIJ You need an army to defeat such an adversary and that takes time.
Bahubali is busy gathering an army large enough to defeat Mahishmatis. Therefore, the trailer that was released recently is all about war and fighting!
For the two warriors to clash, you definitely need a huge army. Kattappa who is married to the thrown has no option but to save the man Bahubali has grown into. After all, Bahubali used to call him mama (uncle) and eat with him even though Kattappa is a slave.
THEORY NO 3
Rajmata (Sivagami) gave the orders
Bahubali: The Beginning begins with Sivagami (Ramya) running from Mahishmati sena with a baby and in order to escape them she goes under water so that the soldiers do not track her.
The hand holding the baby was and is still the talking point of Part 1. It all began after she gave the orders to kill Bahubali. WhyIJ The answer is simple. She is a mother too. And while she knew that the right thing to do was to crown Bahubali, her heart bled for her son Bhallala Deva.
So she kept a condition — whosoever marries Devasena leaves the kingdom. Bahubali agrees. But she also knows that her subjects would not be happy with this and, therefore, secretly orders Kattappa to kill Bahubali so that her son ruled Mahishmati.
But once Bhallala Deva becomes King, she realises her mistake. Her son was no good ruler. By this time Devasena is pregnant and Rajmata fears that Bahubali’s son would be killed by Bhallala. Besieged by guilt, she flees the palace with the baby. In the process she dies and atones for her sin.
THEORY NO 4
All was done to save Rajmata
This is perhaps the most plausible reason why Kattappa killed Bahubali. Rajmata’s order that Bahubali be crowned king doesn’t sit well with either Bhallala Deva or his father Bijjalala Deva (Rajmata’s husband). Father and son hatch a plan to kill her. But Kattappa comes to know of it and he and Bahubali plan for an escape route for Rajmata where the news is spread that Bahubali is dead. This meant that Bhallala Deva is king and Rajmata lives. Years later, Bahubali, who has been living in exile, after amassing an army, attacks Mahishmati. It is here that Kattappa kills Bahubali since Kattappa is sworn to protect the king.
Meanwhile, Bahubali, by now married to Devasena, has a son. In order to save him from her son’s wrath, Rajmata at the behest of Devasena runs with the baby to save him.

Here are the social media spoofs on the multi-billion dollar question
Putting the two-year-long wait to an end, actor Sathyaraj, famous for his role as Kattappa, finally answered the question at a pre-release event of the film. “It is very simple. Producers, Shobu sir and Prasad sir paid me well and Rajamouli told me ‘Kill Bahubali', so I killed him. Otherwise, how can I kill PrabhasIJ He has been a darling since Mirchi (their 2003 film together).” So much for the two-year suspense!
Sonam Gupta (bewafa hai) was in a relationship with Kattappa. Bahubali loved her but couldn't express his feelings for her as she was already in a relationship with Kattappa. Meanwhile, Modiji demonetised `500 and `1,000 notes and Kattappa's salary was of no use. Instead of standing in the line and helping Kattappa exchange the currency, Sonam ran away with Bahubali as he was a king and had notes worth crores. When Kattappa came to know, he killed Bahubali and wrote on every note Bahubali owned — Sonam Gupta bewafa hai!
Kattappa was an RSS and Baahubali's real name was actually Baahub Ali. That's why Kattappa killed Bahubali
Bahubali was using his power and wealth, somehow managed to get a Jio sim, he watched videos, played online games and surfed FB, etc. Kattappa wasn't able to get a Jio Sim for lack of funds. He requested Bahubali to turn on the hotspot but he didn't, fearing it would reduce his Internet speed. Kattappa lost his cool and killed Bahubali.
Kattappa was a loyal to Bahubali. He executed every order of his boss. Even worked on off days, sometimes on holidays too but he got a dismal increment of three per cent. This is why he killed Bahubali!
