‘LPG price hike Modi’s Diwali gift’

Friday, 02 November 2018 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

Samajwadi Party State president Rabi Behera on Thursday termed the LPG price hike as the ‘Modi Government’s Diwali gift to people’ and demanded that the hikes be rolled back before the upcoming festival of lights.

“The NDA Government has increased LPG price for sixth time since June 2017. Price of a subsidised LPG cylinder has been hiked by Rs 2.94 and non-subsidized cylinder by Rs 60. The subsidized and nonsubsidised cylinders now cost Rs 505.34 and Rs 580. The increase in LPG prices is Diwali gift of the Modi Government, which had promised to control price of essential commodities before the 2014 elections,” ridiculed Behera in a statement.

Behera urged the Union Government to rollback the prices of cooking gas cylinder and called upon the women community and political parties to oppose the LPG price hike.
